Updated June 2014

June 12, 2014

It's been a long while, ha, over a year. Kirk's done so much stuff that it's ridiculous to attempt to list it all. Here's a modest attempt based upon my recollection. Kirk has done a number of live appearences with Jesse Jo Stark since the Japan gig. Berlin, Germany. Seoul, Korea. New York and Los Angeles (Sunset Marquis 50th Anniversary). He shot a video with Jesse Jo at the Chrome Hearts factory as well as with Eddie Nervo (Caveat Emptor). Both videos will appear in Chrome Hearts Magazine Series 2, Volume 6.

I couldn't possibly list all the studio work Kirk's done this year but I can tell you that he's been working quite a bit with Atticus Ross for several films. Speaking of Atticus, Kirk is performing with Atticus at the Grammy Museum in Downtown Los Angeles tomorrow night (6/13).

As far as more video, Kirk's been commisioned to perform 3 Pink Noise Test songs at the end of the month with Cerise Leang on vocals. These will be filmed for Chrome Hearts Magazine Series 2, Volume 7 for which at least one of the 3 will appear.

The last quarter of this year will probably see Kirk backing Jesse Jo on a mini Asian tour of possibly - Beijng, China/ Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong. This is pretty pre-mature info but that's the news.

There's something else in the works Macha Poynder but I don't have any details.

Being that Kirk doesn't do social networking, provides little info for this site you may have to do some googling to find what he's up to next. That said, I have also been remiss in updating the site with what little I know. Will this get better or worse? I wouldn't waste much time figuring out that question.

October 21-28, 2012

Kirk will be in Paris, France taking part in Nuit Blanche 2012.

"On the stage of the Théâtre du Châtelet, the "Night Paintings" visual and sound collage of dance performances and drawings by Macha Poynder are projected on two giant screens arranged face to face. The "Night Paintings" explore a territory where the border between dance, sound and moving drawing is opened in a constant state of fluidity. The body is saturated with its light beam, revealing thecalligraphy of the body. On a third screen is projected "Light Movie", a film designed as the artist worked directly on a 35 mm film, like a drawing endless unlike the classic design in a prison. Amidst thisaquarium images, five sound pieces of Kirk Hellie connected to powerful speakers and connected to motion detectors are triggeredon the passage of visitors in a random orchestration."

"A Nuit Blanche is when everyone stays up until the small hours to appreciate a bit of culture. A multi-cultural event which takes place across the greater Paris region, the Nuit Blanche happens at museums, libraries, monuments, religious buildings, tourist sites, cinemas, parks and gardens, hospitals and universities… For the Nuit Blanche, the city as a whole stays up for a massive nocturnal art festival, with crowds strolling the streets and admiring artwork."
